Section 119 :
Punishment for cruelty to animals :
Whoever in any place 1.[in any area for which a Commissioner has not been appointed] cruelty beats, goads, overworks, ill-treats or tortures, or causes procures to be cruelty beaten, goaded, over-worked, ill-treated or tortured any animal, shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment which may extend to one month or with fine which may extend to 2.[two thousand five hundred rupees], or with both.
