Punishment :Imprisonment for 7 years and fine.
Cognizable or Non-cognizable : Cognizable
Bailable or Non-bailable :Bailable 1.(Non-bailable)
Compoundable or Non-compoundable : The person to whom hurt is caused.
By Which Court Triable :Any Magistrate.

Whoever, except in the case provided for by section 335, voluntarily causes grievous hurt, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine. *In this section bailable is Non-Bailable substituted by the Code of Criminal Procedure(amendment) Act, 2005, sec.42(f)(iv), but not yet enforced so Bailable above.
